Dear TRIO Colleague:
Attached you will find an up-to-the-minute list of every member of the House (more than 70) who has signed onto the Cole-Payne letter calling for both a restoration of and increase in TRIO funds.
If your member of Congress has signed the letter, then we owe you many thanks for a job well done.
If your member of Congress is NOT on this list, then we need your help, preferably by close of business Friday!
Please round up citizens of your district to urge your member of Congress to sign the letter. Calls or e-mails or faxes to the Washington DC office can be used to make your request. U.S. mail will NOT arrive in time to be effective.
If your member of Congress serves on the House Appropriations Committee, he or she is unlikely to be willing to sign. And if you cannot round up enough communicators by Friday, please keep trying until Friday April 15 because we can circulate a second letter until that date.
