On Tuesday, May 24, you received an action alert from COE. Please note that the date to mark-up the FY06 House Labor-HHS-Education appropriations subcommittee bill is JUNE 7. This date is tentative but it is a good indicator that the bill will be marked-up early in June. The Senate Appropriations Committee plans to announce 302(b) allocations next week, and the mark-up of the FY06 education bill will be in July. This weekend is a perfect time to not only contact your House and Senate Members to express your institution's/committee's support for TRIO programs, but ask your RELATIVES and FRIENDS who are living in state and out of state to do so as well. It is important to focus on Members of Congress serving on the Appropriations Committee. This is a critical time! Please be sure to respond to the Action Alert! Have a great holiday weekend!
